Author Steven Brown recently published the book How to Raise a Rocket Scientist for Fun and Profit.

It's technically fiction, but it's based on the real life story of his daughter Katie, who graduated at the top of her class from the University of Nevada, Reno and now works for NASA.

Katie was born with cerebral palsy and from early on Steven and his wife had no idea if Katie would be able to walk or talk.

We discuss the book, but we also discuss how to raise a child, special needs or not, and how to push them without shoving them.
