Randa expansion brings 120 jobs to Reno area

Randa Accessories, the world's largest men's accessories company, is expanding its operations in the Reno area, bringing 120 full-time jobs.

Since 2000, Randa Accessories has grown in annual revenue from $100 million to $600 million last year.

The company, which sells items like ties, belts, shoes, and luggage, is making a $25 million investment in its network of North American facilities.

Project Developer Marc Siegel says the expansion includes a new 275,000 square foot facility at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center in Storey County, a space that will include energy efficient features, like daylight harvesting.

"With the skylights, you get natural sunlight in. And so what daylight harvesting does is it turns down the light based upon how much natural sunlight is coming in. With LED, you can have a greater range of light variation that the fixtures will adjust to based upon the natural sunlight coming in."

Siegel says construction should be complete by the end of this year.
