Reno writer Christopher Coake is a recent recipient of the Silver Pen Award from the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame.

Christopher Coake's most recent novel You Came Back is the story of Mark Fife, a midwesterner in his thirties who is grieving the accidental death of his young son Brendan and the divorce from Brendan's mother Chloe that soon followed the tragedy.

When the story begins, Mark has seemingly moved on with his life. He's about to get married again to his new fiancee Allie when he's contacted by the woman who now lives in his former house, which is where Brendan died. That woman tells him the house is haunted by Brendan's ghost.

Coake is a creative writing professor at the University of Nevada, Reno and the recipient of a Silver Pen Award from the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame. He's also written a collection of short stories called We're in Trouble that won the PEN/Robert Bingham Fellowship in 2006.
