More and more we hear about the importance of growing green jobs in the U.S. Nevada is poised to be a leader in this industry with its abundance of natural resources like solar and geothermal. But how do grow the next generation that will run these operations and push for more energy efficiency?

More and more we hear about the importance of growing green jobs in the U.S. Nevada is poised to be a leader in this industry with its abundance of natural resources like solar and geothermal. But how do we grow the next generation that will run these operations and push for more energy efficiency? The Desert Research Institute, which is located here in Reno as well as down south, has come up with an answer: bring this knowledge to the classroom. They have several programs that seek to educate teachers and in turn students about these issues. They have just expanded their teacher workshops to Washoe County. As soon as this school year, students may begin to hear more about energy efficiency and renewables. Today our guest is Amelia Gulling who runs the DRI's GreenPower program across Nevada.
