UNR President Johnson: Tobacco ban will boost student success

On the April 4, 2014 edition of KUNR's Beyond the Headlines, David Stipech visited with University of Nevada, Reno president Dr. Marc Johnson about the University’s announcement that the campus will be tobacco-free next year.
The University of Nevada, Reno announced March 31 that it has begun planning to implement a Tobacco-Free University policy effective August 1, 2015.Nearly 1,200 other U.S. colleges and universities have implemented a tobacco-free policy.
This action has been endorsed through resolutions of support by the Faculty Senate, Staff Employees Council, Graduate Student Association and Associated Students of the University of Nevada.
