Another Non-Gaming, Non-Smoking Hotel Opens Downtown

Northern Nevada Business Weekly

A new hotel in downtown Reno held its grand opening last night. It's a Courtyard by Marriott located near the Aces baseball stadium and the Truckee River.

Reporter Brook Bentley with our media partner Northern Nevada Business Weekly says the opening represents a larger shift in downtown accommodations.

"The Courtyard by Marriott is joining the trend with properties like the Whitney Peak Hotel and the Renaissance Marriott in being non-gaming  facilities located in downtown Reno," Bentley explains.

"There's also a trend of non-smoking going on in the area as well, and both of these are showing that there is change in the area and the focal point isn't so much around gaming downtown anymore."

The hotel has 135 rooms and starting taking reservations last month.
