Female Software Startup Heading To Reno

Northern Nevada Business Weekly

Next month, a software company called CAEK, pronounced "cake," will be moving its headquarters to downtown Reno where they expect to hire 150 new employees over the next five years. To learn more about what the company does, let's turn to our contributor Brook Bentley of the Northern Nevada Business Weekly.

Protecting personal data from both hackers and accidental breaches is particularly problematic for healthcare companies, which can incur hefty fines for violating clients' privacy under federal regulations.

Small providers are required to follow the same rules as major providers and being fined for one mistake could sink a small office. While many software programs are tailored to help larger companies with bigger budgets, CAEK, Inc. has created software to help smaller businesses better manage their data.

The company was founded by four women who all worked together at a health records company in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
