Interview: A look back on UNR professor's Shakespeare folio find

University of Nevada, Reno

As the year draws to a close and we reflect on the significant moments of 2014, one that stands out is Eric Rasmussen’s voyage from Reno to a library in France where he identified one of Shakespeare’s original folios last month.

Now, 233 of the 800 first folios have been found, and since no manuscripts by Shakespeare survive, these rare texts have helped preserve many of his plays.

Rasmussen, who chairs the English Department at the University of Nevada, Reno and is an international Shakespeare expert, recently spoke to Reno Public Radio's Michelle Bliss about this discovery.

Michelle Billman is a former news director at KUNR Public Radio.
