Dalton prepares for an event at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Spanish Springs graduate Jake Dalton is competing in Rio, as part of the U.S. Men’s Gymnastics Team. As Reno Public Radio’s Noah Glick reports, he has a chance to bring home his first Olympic medal.

That's a clip from Jake Dalton's Floor Exercise routine during last week's qualifying round. He placed second, just behind teammate Sam Mikulak. Dalton now moves on to the final medal round taking place this Sunday morning at ten.

Dalton, who was also a member of the 2012 Olympic team, is known for his prowess on the Floor Exercise and has won several national and world championships.

If he places third or above on Sunday, he'll be bringing home his first Olympic medal.
