More Tahoe and Truckee businesses are being certified as B corporations. Our contributor Kaleb Roedel of the Northern Nevada Business View reports.
B Corporations use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. The list of businesses across Tahoe and Truckee that have earned a B Corporation Certification is growing.
At the end of April, Environmental Incentives in South Lake Tahoe joined a handful of peers with this unique designation. Others include: Bigtruck in Truckee, Brand Geek in Incline Village, and Eagle Protect also in South Lake.
In order to attain the certification from B Lab, the nonprofit behind this movement, Environmental Incentives implemented paid volunteer time, fringe benefits for alternative commuting and updated policies to purchase environmentally friendly office supplies from local businesses.
