Truckee Commercial Cannabis Delivery Rolls Forward

Alexa Ard
A look at smokeable medical marijuana.

Commercial cannabis delivery in Truckee has moved one step closer to reality. Our contributor Kaleb Roedel of the Northern Nevada Business Weekly has the story.

The Town of Truckee Planning Commission has approved a resolution that spells out how commercial and medical cannabis companies will operate.

Under the proposed plan, businesses will be delivery-only, with all other commercial cannabis activities prohibited. The companies are restricted from any sales at their fixed locations, which must be 600 feet away from schools, day care centers, and youth centers.

The commission also decided not to restrict the number of businesses in the area. Several delivery companies were in favor of that choice, while the group Tahoe Truckee Future Without Drug Dependence wanted to limit the number of permits issued.

The resolution will now serve as a recommendation to the Truckee Town Council to adopt formal regulations.
