Air Date: 08/14/12 Even positive change is challenging. That's particularly true of change that we did not expect and do not welcome. As we practice coping with change, many times we will get better at it. The most difficult fact of change is that it is inevitable. The only choice we get is how we will cope with change. For children, the ability to cope with change is even more difficult because they don't have much control over what happens to them. This ability to adapt, to be flexible, and to cope with stress and change is called resilience. And it is one of the most important traits of successful, capable, contented people. Cheryl offers suggestions on how to build resilience in your children on this week's edition of Parenting. Parenting with Cheryl Erwine airs every Tuesday morning on 88.7 FM, KUNR, and can be reached at 775-331-6723 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
