Air Date: 10/09/12 Many loving parents treat their children's innocent mistakes as intentional failures or misbehavior. They hand out punishment and lectures when things don't go the way they expect. Sometimes people think they can't let their children know they made a mistake, and this causes communication blocks between parents and children. If parents can't fess up to their shortcomings, children may decide it isn't safe to make a mistake or tell parents they are in trouble. Unfortunately, all of us make mistakes. And it takes courage to be imperfect. Truthfully, mistakes are wonderful opportunities to learn. This week Cheryl discusses suggestions on how to approach mistakes on this week's edition of Parenting. Parenting with Cheryl Erwine airs every Tuesday morning on 88.7 FM, KUNR, and can be reached at 775-331-6723 or email@example.com.
