With its proximity to the Black Rock Desert, Reno is a conduit for creative expression among artists who make their annual trek to the Burning Man festival. Now, a group of art lovers is trying to bring more of that Burner art back to the city. Reno Public Radio's Julia Ritchey has the story.

Artist Gary Gunderson attended his fourth Burning Man this year. He built an 18-foot metal sculpture made from recycled bicycle parts that can be played like a musical instrument.

Over the weekend, the Eldorado hosted its annual Great Italian Festival in downtown Reno where hundreds of locals and tourists alike got the chance to stomp grapes in order to make wine, sample all kinds of vino and pasta sauces, and enjoy live music. Nevada State Prison Gets Historic Designation

The Nevada State Prison in Carson City has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Reno Public Radio's Michelle Bliss has the details.

The Nevada state prison dates back to 1862 and housed inmates for 150 years before shuttering its doors a few years ago because of budget cuts. 

The Holland Project: Grounded For Life

The non-profit Holland Project is an all ages arts and music space for the whole community.  They are currently at 140 Vesta Street and have launched the "Grounded For Life" campaign.  It is chance to purchase the building on Vesta Street and make Holland's home permanent.  Danna O'Connor chats with Director Britt Curtis to find out how you can help.
