Today when someone uses the word bully, parents might remember the kid who made them shake in their shoes, waiting to take their lunch money or shoes. Today, bullies do far worse, they attack kids self-esteem. They post negative messages on social networks and demean children emotionally. Some kids may be bullied because of ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or because they are gay or lesbian. What about when kids aren't invited to a birthday party, is that bullying? This week Cheryl offers some suggestions on creating an atmosphere of respect to take the power out of bullying.
