Nevadans' Shrinking Incomes Lead Nation

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevadans are leading the nation in loss of income.Recent Census data shows Nevada had the highest percent decline in median income in 2010.That year Nevadans' income declined by 11.9 percent. The median household income was $51,000.Only five other states saw income levels drop by at least 10 percent.Nevada also had the second highest increase in the national poverty rate, after only Florida.Nevada's poverty rate increased by 4.3 percent. Florida's grew by 4.4 percent.The Census data is the latest example of Nevada's stalled economy.The state also has the highest unemployment rate in the nation.
