The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency adopted its Active Transportation Plan late last week. The plan aims to improve transportation options for bicyclists and pedestrians in the Tahoe Basin.

"It's really looking at the bike paths and sidewalk network, you know, where are there connectivity gaps," says Thomas Lotshaw, a spokesma for TRPA.

The agency is also looking at an overall transit plan for the region, as well as a project that would improve traffic flow between Tahoe communities.

"We want it so people can walk and bike around the communities, so people can take the bus within communities, and then to and from communities,” says Lotshaw.

Those updated transit and highway plans are due out from the TRPA by the end of the year.
