NRA Launches First Ad Buy In Reno Market

Alexa Ard

The National Rifle Association has launched its first TV ad of the election cycle, targeting several battleground states, including Nevada. The NRA is spending $100,000 in the Reno market to air the ad, featuring a former security contractor, Mark Geist, who was a member of the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012.

Four people were killed during the attack on the U.S. embassy in Libya, including ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. Conservatives have frequently used the event as a line of attack against Hillary Clinton, who was Secretary of State at the time.

The ad will also be aired in Colorado, Florida, Maine, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia at a cost of $1.8 million dollars through July 13.
