The Internet of Things refers to the devices connecting various products for consumers and businesses, whether that be washers and dryers, a smart suitcase or a database. But IOT development companies are having a hard time finding local hires to fill their operating space due to its quick expansion. The industry is looking to other states for workers.
The Reno Tech Academy is launching an IOT and cybersecurity certification training program in January of next year. The program will be among the first of its kind in the country, putting Nevada ahead of the curve in not only attracting IOT startups, but also preparing a workforce for jobs with an average salary of $80,000 a year.
