The group Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful will take your tree as long as you drop it off by January 17th. Until then you can drop by any of the collection sites between the hours of 9 and 4:30 each day. The sites are Bartley Ranch Park and Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno, along with the Shadow Mountain Sports Complex in Sparks. Your tree gets turned into mulch to fight weeds in local parks. The recycling happens thanks to volunteers and the group asks for a 3 dollar donation to offset the costs. If you flocked your tree, they won't take it. And oh yeah, even if you're trying to get rid of them, the group asks you please take your decorations off the tree first. Click here for the official site with more info.
