Ahead of the Nevada Democratic caucus, speculation over which candidate union members are going to stand behind is mounting. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, union members make up nearly 15 percent of the state’s workforce.

Nevada’s largest union group is backing
Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto in her bid for the U.S. Senate. 

Nevada’s American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, or the AFL-CIO, is endorsing the state's former attorney general Cortez Masto’s run for outgoing Senator Harry Reid’s seat.

Regional Transportation Commission

A two-year legal battle between Washoe Co's Regional Transportation Commission and union for bus drivers in Reno is continuing this week with another hearing at the U.S District Court. Our contributor Luiza Vieira  has the story. 

Back in 2014, the RTC board voted to turn on audio recording devices that were already in the buses. But the bus driver's union filed a suit against the agency, claiming that listening devices are an intrusion of privacy.
