Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

Next Generation Radio is an initiative by NPR to train students in radio reporting and get their voices on the air by hosting week-long boot camps across the country. Doug Mitchell runs the program and recently spent a week in Reno working with students from the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. Check out his interview with Reno Public Radio's Michelle Bliss about the project.

This year's student reporters covered everything from the growth of Hispanic businesses on Wells Avenue to a local scientist who is designing a smart wheelchair with robotic arms. You can hear those stories and more here
