Are you familiar with TED Talks? The online videos of global thought leaders sharing their insights about our world? They're also heard on NPR's TED Radio Hour each Sunday at 2 p.m. on KUNR.

TED stands for Technology, Education and Design. Since 1984 when the TED Talks began, they've expanded to many cities across north America, including the TEDx presentation on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno. TEDx is an independently organized TED event.

2015 marks the third year for the program at the University. On Friday, Jan. 23, 20 speakers are scheduled to take the stage for a dozen or so minutes each and give their talk. The live event is sold out but will be streamed live online from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at TEDxUniversityofNevada.org, where you can find out more and see bios of this year's presenters.
