Nevada has a new partner in the development of unmanned aerial vehicles — the Canadian province of Alberta. Our contributor Kaleb Roedel of the Northern Nevada Business Weekly reports.

Gov. Brian Sandoval and Alberta Premier Rachel Notley have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together on tackling challenges related to the safe integration of unmanned aerial systems into their airspaces.

Both leaders say that combining the expertise of Nevada and Alberta offers potential for innovation across industries. That could include energy, agriculture, and the environment.

Alberta is home to one of Canada's two UAV test ranges while Nevada is one of six federal Aviation Administration UAV test sites.
