The City of Reno has extended its pilot project with Lime, the dockless bike and electric scooter company. KUNR Contributor Kaleb Roedel of the Northern Nevada Business View has more.

Reno City Council directed staff to prepare a one-year extension. The 2019 agreement will include rolling out electric-assist bicycles in addition to the hundreds of Lime bikes already deployed in Reno.

It will not include launching the company’s e-scooters. The city needs time to define whether or not the scooter is classified as a moped at the city level.

The extension will be valid through January of next year.
