Donald J. Trump, the black-sheep Republican presidential nominee, surprised the nation with a convincing upset victory over Democrat Hillary R. Clinton Tuesday night. Nevada, a battleground state, turned blue for the third time since the 2008 election, but the state's 6 votes did not deny the candidate the electoral win, although Clinton claimed the popular vote early Wednesday morning.

Voters from both sides of the spectrum in Washoe County attended watch parties at two of Reno's most renowned resorts and closed out the final night of what's been a historically impactful 2016 presidential election.
