Reno City Council has decided to keep its limit on marijuana dispensaries to eight licenses. KUNR contributor Kaleb Roedel of the Northern Nevada Business View has the details.
The Nevada Department of Taxation had previously allocated a maximum of 10 licenses for the city. However, last year City Council adopted its own ordinance to limit the total number of potential cannabis businesses.
The city decided to keep the number of possible dispensaries to eight, which means only four additional businesses could be approved in the near future.
The council also decided to keep hours of operation for both medical marijuana dispensaries and retail stores between 8 a.m. and midnight, seven days per week.
