The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority launched a new branding slogan during the final day of the Governor's Conference on Tourism held in Sparks: "All Seasons. A Thousand Reasons." Chris Baum of the RSCVA unveiled the new slogan aimed at highlighting the varied activities and attractions available in the region year round, with a lesser focus on gaming. The campaign will run alongside the existing "What's Your Passion?" campaign, which will evolve slightly into "Find Your Passion." The conference included for the first time a so-called Nevada marketplace that brought Nevada agencies and attractions together with tour operators and travel agents from around the world. And there were sessions aimed to help Nevada's tourism industry improve through the ever-evolving world of the web and social media. Claudia Vecchio is the Chair of the Nevada Commission on Tourism. "This is the kind of environment where you just never can rest on your laurels," she said. "It's always a learning environment. Always something new to understand and to maximize. So I think that we're really helping people evolve their marketing." Vecchio also says her agency is planning a new statewide tourism mobile app in the coming year to help visitors and travelers find attractions, deals - and even history - based on their location. Tourism is Nevada's leading industry supporting around 470-thousand jobs.
