About Sendhil Mullainathan

Sendhil Mullainathan is a Professor of Economics at Harvard University.

Mullainathan has worked on issues in poverty and behavioral economics, and helped co-found a non-profit to apply behavioral science to design solutions for problems like HIV transmission in South Africa.

His latest research focuses on using machine learning to better understand human behavior. He co-authored the book Scarcity: Why Having Too Little Means So Much in 2013 and regularly writes for the New York Times.
