Fire & Ice Festival
A beloved winter tradition for two decades, Ely’s Fire and Ice Festival combines outdoor adventure, community arts, delicious food and drinks, live music, and two massive fireworks displays. Competitions include snow sculptures, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, ice bowling, ice horseshoeing, ice disc golf, and cornhole. The festival's crown jewel is Northern Nevada Railway’s unique Fire and Ice Fireworks Train– the only fireworks display launched from a train in the entire world. After the train pulls into the station, a warm bonfire brings the community together in celebration.
