Beyonce's chart topping new album is out on vinyl but there's some controversy

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "TEXAS HOLD 'EM")

BEYONCE: (Singing) This ain't Texas...

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

"Cowboy Carter," Beyonce's chart-topping new album, is out on vinyl. The release of the LP is not without some controversy, though. Fans of the singer were upset when they noticed the physical copy of the album did not feature tracks available on streaming platforms. Beyonce makes up for it, though - the LP adds alternative artwork and features records colored red, white, or blue. I suppose the hope is that fans will still lay their credit cards down, down, down, down. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
