Brian Polian is officially the final candidate to head the Wolf Pack football program at the University of Nevada Reno. UNR President Marc Johnson and Athletic Director Cary Groth announced the decision Monday. The Board of Regents will vote on the proposed contract Friday. It's a $475 thousand dollar base salary plus incentives. Polian comes to the Silver State after a year as the special teams coordinator and tight ends coach at Texas A&M. He's also coached at Notre Dame, University of Central Florida and Buffalo. Chad Hartley, assistant athletics director at UNR says Polian also comes with a reputation as one of the top recruiters in the nation. "What Brian's done and what his track record is as a recruiter first and foremost, I think shows he'll be able to attract the high level student athletes that we need to elevate Nevada football to a new level," Hartley said. Polian is 38 years old. He replaces Chris Ault, who stepped down after 28 years as head coach.
