We all want our children to be happy and to feel loved in their childhood and life. But in today's world it's easy to get caught up in the advertising and marketing hype that says we need more stuff. It's so easy in fact and so effective that they are beginning Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving Day now. Soon, we may be eating fast food in the parking lot on Thanksgiving while we wait in line for more "stuff" instead of spending time with family at home. If you ask your children what they got for Christmas last year, many will not remember at all and others that do remember will likely no longer play with the toy you purchased for them. And what about your child's room, how easy is it to get them to clean up especially when all their toys don't even fit into the closet or storage space available? This week on Parenting, Cheryl discusses how to keep our priorities in check this holiday season. Parenting with Cheryl Erwine airs every Tuesday morning on 88.7 FM, KUNR, and can be reached at 775-331-6723 or cheryl.erwine@sbcglobal.net.
