And the 2019 Oscar Shorts winners are...

Thank you to everyone who came out to the 2019 Oscar Shorts Film Festival, brought to you by KUNR Public Radio and the Joe Crowley Student Union. We'd like to share the results of the KUNR vote for the Best Animated Short, the Best Live-Action Short, and the Best Documentary Short for the 2019 Academy Award nominated films.

How did our results match up to the Academy's voting?

Live Action Shorts: 

Detainment (Ireland)

Fauve (Canada)

Marguerite (Canada) -- Marguerite won Reno's choice for best live action short for 2019.

Madre (Spain)

Skin (USA) -- Skin won the Academy Award, but took second as Reno's choice. 

Animated Shorts: 

Animal Behaviour (Canada) -- Animal Behavior was Reno's favorite animated short for 2019.

Bao (USA) -- Bao won the Academy Award for best animated short. It came in third for Reno's choice.
