Jewish Nevada, a nonprofit organization that serves as the representative organization for the more than 70,000 Jews in Nevada, will be hosting its third annual Milk & Honey Jewish Cultural Festival on Sunday, Sept. 15 from noon to 3:00 p.m. at McKinley Arts & Culture Center.

The event is free to attend and open to the public, showcasing local food trucks, live music, an interactive Kid’s Zone, culture and community. Israel is known as “the land of milk and honey” and the expression refers to a place full of comfort.

“We are thrilled to invite our Northern Nevada community to come learn about our culture, traditions, and to celebrate with us,” said Mara Langer, Jewish Nevada’s director of community engagement. “This is an opportunity for people of all ages to share our traditions. We look forward to sharing the many delightful aspects of our culture with the community and welcoming them with open arms.”

Specialty foods from Noble Pie. The event includes a Kids’ Zone with face painting, Save the Bees Foundation, Travelin’ Toms coffee, Mandalynn Jewelry Designs, Truckee Meadows Candles and many other local vendors.

The San Francisco Yiddish Combo will entertain the crowd while attendees gather and enjoy themed offerings from a variety of local vendors. The Artists’ Gallery will highlight local artists’ work on display and participants will vote for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbon awards.
