The Reno Jazz Orchestra presents “The Legends of Jazz” with award-winning singer and songwriter Nicolas Bearde, on October 13, 2024, at The Theatre in Reno, Nevada. The two-hour performance that starts at 2:00 p.m. showcases a musical journey that emerged from the cultural melting pot of New Orleans in the early 20th century.

Through this adventure, the 17-piece Orchestra and Nicolas Bearde will present compositions from the extraordinary legends of Jazz and finish with a crescendo of contemporary works written by Reno Jazz Orchestra’s Music Director Dr. Greg Johnson.

“Bearde’s style is likened to Lou Rawls, Nat King Cole and Bill Withers,” said Johnson. He is known for his velvet voice, wit, and engaging rapport that has drawn audiences into his live performances around the world.”

Bearde is a singer-songwriter, actor, and educator whose career has spanned over 35 years. From his humble beginnings to touring the globe with many of today's jazz legends, Bearde has traveled many roads. His third album "Live at Yoshi's- a Salute to Lou" continues to be a favorite on Jazz Radio worldwide.”
