In celebration of National Poetry Month, join Nevada Humanities and the Bristlecone General Store in Baker for a weekend of creativity and connection! Led by Katie Karnehm-Esh, Humanities Center Coordinator at Great Basin College, these workshops embrace Nevada’s alluring landscape and your creative powers.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, meet at the Bristlecone General Store in Baker. Participants will then drive to the Pole Canyon Trailhead in Great Basin National Park where Karnehm-Esh will lead a two-mile hike on this easy-moderate trail with low elevation gain. Participants will then return to the trailhead picnic area for a writing session focused on our senses and connection with nature.

Bring a journal, writing materials, water, and snacks. Wear layers of clothing, sunscreen, and a hat.
