J-school dean: Letterman departure marks changing of the guard

Al Stavitsky, Dean of the Reynolds School of Journalism
University of Nevada, Reno

When David Letterman signs off of his last CBS Late Night show on May 20, it completes the changing of the guard in late night television. So what's the recent history? And why is late night television still relevant on today's digital-dominated media landscape?

Late night TV was the topic of conversation with Al Stavitsky, the Dean of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. He was interviewed by KUNR's David Stipech for the Reynolds School Media Watch on KUNR's Beyond the Headlines. (Air date 5-8-15)
