36th Star: Nevada Museum of Art celebrates Nevada's journey to statehood

36th Star: Nevada's Journey from Territory to State

As Nevada celebrates its 150th birthday this fall, the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno has assembled a truly historic exhibit that culminates with the unprecedented Reno visit by the original Emancipation Proclamation on Nevada Day weekend.

The exhibit is entitled "The 36th Star: Nevada's Journey from Territory to Statehood," and it runs through Nov. 2. The Emancipation Proclamation will be featured Oct. 30 - Nov. 2.

The Nevada Museum of Art's Director of Communications Amanda Horn provided highlights of the exhibit on KUNR's Beyond the Headlines (9-19-14).

Find out more information about the exhibit and the Nevada Museum of Art at 160 W. Liberty Street, or call (775) 329-3333.
