Beer, Bands And Bitterbrush Stands
Beer, Bands And Bitterbrush Stands
The California & Nevada Chapters of BHA are throwing a bitterbrush bash to help restore critical winter range for mule deer and antelope at the Hallelujah Junction Wildlife Area.
We are gathering conservationists from throughout the West for a public land planting event followed by a community gathering and campout with live music, food, drinks and more. Talented local bands, awesome sweepstakes, sponsors, campfire stories, and onsite camping are all on tap for this grand gathering.
This event isn't just about having a great time. Participants and sponsors will help plant 10,000 bitterbrush plants grown at FCI Herlong through the Sagebrush in Prisons Program in addition to plants of cultural significance to the Washoe Tribe.
Last winter was especially hard for wildlife. HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE AN IMPACT - And have a great time with this incredible community while you are at it.
Volunteers will be meeting at the Hallelujah Junction Wildlife Area on Friday, Saturday & Sunday mornings, October 27-29th to help plant 10,000 bitterbrush plugs grown through the Sagebrush in Prisons Program. After a day of planting on Friday, we will drive 30 minutes West to the Two Hearts Ranch for a community gathering and wild game potluck with on-site camping, campfire stories, a bar and more. Saturday morning volunteers will head back to the wildlife area for a huge planting event and then Saturday night folks will gather back at the Ranch for our Beer Bands & Bitterbrush Stands event with food trucks, a massive raffle and a barn filled with live bands, and a bar.
We will have space for over 150 campers on the property located in the scenic Lost Sierra Valley and here is what it looks like. Reserve your camping spot and/or RSVP for the planting effort to get all the details.
Join us and let's demonstrate the power of the public lands community when we gather for the common good.
The first 100 volunteers will get a limited run, custom BHA engraved leather work glove to thank them for their hard work and dedication to wildlife and habitat on public lands. Here is what the graphic looks like for each glove.
To learn more about the project or if you would like to volunteer on Saturday and/or Sunday, but do not want to camp, please click the 'RSVP for Planting only' button below.
This is a FREE event but campsites are available for a small fee. We recommend that you camp with us to take advantage of this unique event and to help us offset the cost of renting the space. If you would like to donate to help us cover costs we would greatly appreciate it!
