Reflections of Art And War: Interview with Benjamin Busch

Sierra Nevada College is nestled in the woods of Incline Village. The school offers a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in creative writing that has attracted people from all walks of life, including many veterans. One faculty member who served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 16 years says his Iraq War experience has shaped him as an artist.

“Because my view of everything is tainted by that experience: of family conflict, and life on earth—is changed by war—by the presence of such violence and death,” writing professor Benjamin Busch says.
