Hawk Fire reaches 85% containment

The Hawk Fire burning in Northwest Reno, Nev., on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, during the early evening.

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District confirmed to KUNR that, as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, the Hawk Fire is 85% contained.

Officials said Tuesday afternoon that 47 structures have been destroyed, eight additional structures damaged, and one commercial structure destroyed.

No fatalities have been reported.
