We often talk about the University’s interest in and programs for promoting innovation, invention and creativity. But the "maker space" known as the DeLaMare Library is getting a lot of attention of late. Tod Colegrove, the head librarian at the facility, and University Provost Kevin Carman visited about the facility and what this innovation means to our region. The conversation aired on KUNR'sBeyond the Headlines. (Interviewed by David Stipech; air date 5-29-15.)
The DeLaMare Library has received the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada's "Most Innovative Space" award this spring, and has been recognized as one of the "most interesting maker spaces" in America by Make magazine. It is a hub of student learning and activity and a growing hotspot for innovation in the region that is gaining national acclaim.
