University launches new center aimed at "Innevation"

The University of Nevada, Reno has opened its new Innevation Center on the north edge of downtown Reno.

The University of Nevada, Reno has opened a new center on the north edge of downtown Reno, creating not just a buzz, but a new opportunity for collaboration and innovation for the region.

It’s called the Innevation Center, spelled with “N-e-v” instead of “n-o” to emphasize Nevada’s leadership while making sure there isn’t a “no” when it comes to innovation.

The center is powered by Switch, the developer of technology solutions including mega-data centers.

The Innevation Center was the focus of this edition of the University Spotlight on KUNR's Beyond the Headlines. University of Nevada, Reno President Marc Johnson discussed the center with his guests, Heidi Gansert, executive director of external relations, and Mridul Gautum, vice president of research and innovation. (Hosted by David Stipech; air date 10-16-15.)

Contact the Innevation Center here.  Read a UNR article about the Center here.
