Nevada Casinos Hit $1 Billion In Win For Three Months

Nevada casinos have now reported three consecutive months when total win exceeded a billion dollars. Our contributor Kaleb Roedel of the Northern Nevada Business Weekly breaks down the numbers.

Statewide total win was more than $1.02 billion in March, which is an increase of more than 3 percent from the same month a year ago. The state hasn't seen this kind of hat trick since 2008.

The increase was driven by Baccarat, which more than doubled compared to the previous March, raking in $117 million. Without Baccarat, statewide win would've been actually been slightly down.

The other notable statistic for the month was the sports pool, where total win grew nearly 9 percent.

The sports pool set an all time record for the amount of cash bet — roughly $522 million. The NCAA men's basketball tournament was the driver for that growth.
