“Third Thursday in the Basement” event kicks off Sept. 15 to bring community, business together

Local businesses located inside The Basement at 50 South Virginia, Reno’s historic post office building, announced the launch of a monthly community event featuring live music, live art, and food and drink specials. “Third Thursdays in the Basement” kicks off this Thursday, September 15, 2022 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. to bring shoppers and local businesses into the downtown area at the end of the workday. Every event will feature a seasonal theme and live music, and will showcase a local artist and community workshop. Freshies, the basement’s newest food vendor, will provide a rotating special - kicking off with a $5 “White Lightning” acai bowl. 7 Troughs Speakeasy will offer a seasonal drink special.

“We love the constant drumbeat of events that bring people together all Summer long. We decided we needed to create an anchor event to keep that feeling alive throughout the colder months and we have the perfect place for it,” said Melinda Brown, owner of Mo, Joe & Zoe Clothing and Accessories and Replenish Refillery and Gift, two of the businesses located inside The Basement. “It’s been a long time coming – since well before the pandemic we craved a reason to work together with our local artists and purveyors to drive better conversations. We’re ready. We hope you’ll come.”

WHAT - Free live music, live art, food and drink specials, workshops on a variety of topics as well as fundraisers and introductions to new local businesses.

WHEN - The third Thursday of every month starting September 15, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

WHERE - The Basement inside 50 South Virginia in Downtown Reno, also known as the historic US Postal Service building.
