A Conversation: Nevada's Lifelines To Nepal

KNPB

Brent Boynton, from our public television partner KNPB, sat down recently with two local women whose nonprofit experience in Nepal allowed them to offer immediate assistance when earthquakes rocked the country back in April.

Connie J. Steinheimer, a Nevada district judge, was head of the Soroptimist Club of Truckee Meadows when the group began working in Nepal in 1999. Tony Neubauer, founder of the tour company Myths and Mountains in Incline Village, launched her nonprofit READ Global in 1991, after speaking with local Nepalese guides about what they felt was most needed in their villages.

A Conversation airs Friday evenings on KNPB Channel 5 at 8:30. Click here to see Brent's entire interview called Nevada's Lifelines to Nepal.
