Updates On Preacher Fire Near Gardnerville

Wednesday, 7/26 5:00 p.m. update

Evacuations have been lifted for residents affected by the Preacher Fire in Douglas County. Pine Nut road 2 is still closed to the public.

The lightning-caused blaze began early Monday morning and has since burned 4,651 acres southeast of Gardnerville. The fire is 20 percent contained.

Officials estimate a full containment by Saturday.

FEMA has authorized a fire management grant to help fund fire fighting efforts.
