Underserved Communities ReporterMaria joined KUNR Public Radio in December 2022 as a staff reporter. She is interested in stories about underserved communities, immigration, arts and culture, entertainment, education and health.
Maria was born in La Serena, Chile, and lives in Reno, Nev. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2018 from Universidad de La Serena, and in 2022, she earned her master’s degree in journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Maria enjoys traveling, making new friends, trying new food, and spending time with her pets.
