Among the nine houses destroyed by the Bug Fire was the home of Michele and Gil Lucero. Their place in Red Rock sat between the Bug and Freds Mountain fires that later became one. The couple shared what their dream home meant to them.

Residents who have lost their home due to the ongoing fires, including the Bug Fire, will start being notified by Washoe County damage assessment officials on Wednesday evening, said Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Chief Richard Edwards.
